Perhaps you remember seeing the Yardbirds? Members included Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page. They Play a Live Show at the Battle of the Bands on 
December 11, 1965 at the Rock River Roller Palace

I saw the Yardbirds at the Rock River Roller Palace in Dec 65. They did two sets. Needless to say it was pretty cool. I snuck into the dressing room between sets and talked with the band. They were really nice to put up with a 14 year old kid like me. Jeff Beck even explained feedback to me! They were using the opening act's vox amps, except Beck, he had an AC30 vox with a blown up speaker. It was a great night.   Bun Carlos
